An occasional kind of post in which I am enthusiastic about ideas I’m not working on right now:
- the Having-A-Good-Day RPG: you found your keys! you’re early to work! Chair gives +10 sitting.
- you’re holding a glass of wine at a fancy reception: you’ll need the iPhone app that claps for you when you shake it.
- Robot Wishes You Were Here: service that automatically creates postcards based on your social network feeds (photos, tweets) while you’re on holiday.
Item #2 is a classic problem. Especially if you’re holding a plastic pint glass which threatens to deform and collapse if looked at funny – even vigorous clapping of a free hand on the thigh becomes a hazard. Maybe employ someone to clap for you?
I’ve realised I could just record myself clapping using one of the voice memo apps – perhaps a couple of different levels of appreciation – and then play it back as necessary. No need to wave and risk spilling my drink.
Now, I need an app to stop people from looking at me strangely.
